FALL PREVENTION FOR ALL: Physical Therapist Shares Simple Steps You Can Take Today to Reduce Your Fall Risk

Tumbles, slips, trips and nosedives. It doesn’t matter how you slice it; they are all different names for that same, dirty, four-letter F word, “FALL.” What makes this word dirty, is that it’s estimated to happen to over 80 million adults each year, and that number is on the rise.

The upsetting part is that most falls are completely preventable. See, the secret to fall prevention is taking preventative action. Just as you brush your teeth every day to prevent them from falling out, you should take preventative action to reduce your chances of falling down.

Most of us are aware that chest pressure, shortness of breath and sweating are all warning signs of a potential heart attack. However, are you aware of the warning signs that may be placing you or loved one at an increased risk of falling? Do you know what you can do to help prevent them from happening?
